Cridea Jeevik is a young violet blooded troll living on Alternia during the time of Joey Claire's visit.

Her sign is Aqualo, sign of the Puppeteer, which has a Prospit sway and is bound to the Heart aspect.

Concept and creation[]

Development[]

Earlier in development, Hiveswap's violet bloods were intended to have a strictly marine theme, and as such early concepts for Cridea had her in a swimsuit and using a "Mega Man Cannon" in reference to the abilities of her lusus, a pistol shrimp (known for its ability to fire hot bursts of water at threats). As the sea dwellers were made more individual, however, artist Kim Quach helped develop a new personality for her which more parodies the 'Asian baby girl' cultural trend.^[1]

Cridea was first revealed to the public in a development screenshot featuring her profile on "Prongle". Among the beta graphics used for her profile were a cat with horns as an icon and a piece of edited Feferi Peixes fanart as a header image. Her posts in the screenshot showcased her interest in memes, referencing a Troll-lolol-con, "LOL Shrimp", and meme theft by another troll.

A broadcast as part of Stuck at Home Con 2022 provided the first ever look at Cridea's finalized, official design among other characters appearing in Hiveswap: Act 3; at Stuck at Home Con 2023, musician James Roach provided further insight to her development and previewed some of the musical tracks associated with her.

An advertisement on a scuttlecoach stop outside Xefros Tritoh's hive refers to a "Jeevik Week".

Joey and Xefros catch a train seeking out Cridea on Jeevik Island, where Jeevik Week is being held.^{[citation needed]} Cridea is spotted among Dammek's Chittr conticks alongside Trizza Tethis, who surpasses her followers by only one.

Personality and traits[]

Cridea is a two-sided person, enjoying all the privileges of her royal blood while simultaneously expressing sympathy for the lowblood cause,^[1] and displaying a vastly different persona in her public videos to how she acts in her own hive.^[2]

Trivia[]

The Jeevik Week poster in Act 1 is written in the original Daedric form of the Alternian alphabet, rather than the revised script used in most of Hiveswap.
