Forum: Index > The Kernelsprite > Deceased status
Currently some characters have their status clarified as deceased in their age section, while others don't. I would like to unify that, but I am reluctant to just add deceased to all characters that need it. I personally think it is unecessary to add that to the info box as it is usually clear from the biography section and can be a huge spoiler to new readers. Then again our policy has always been to pander to the up to date/informed reader, not adding spoiler warnings etc. How do you guys feel? Remove the deceased status or keep it and add it to all characters that are still missing it (which are plenty btw)? bitterLime 10:48, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
- While I do not disagree that the deceased tag can get confusing, I have a different reason. Almost all characters die, and the line between life and death is often blurred. However, spoiler prevention is not a real problem. If we were to remove every spoiler, there would be no Wiki. The up to date/informed reader IS our priority.
- I think whether a character is deceased or not should be included in the infobox, really the issue handling infoboxes for characters with multiple selves with different status, the retcon really made things confusing there. Maybe it would be better to add a status field which is separate from the age field? - The Light6 (talk) 04:44, September 24, 2017 (UTC)
