I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. I don't really know html or wikia very well, but this is clearly some sort of template error, and there might potentially be a fix or workaround that doesn't compromise the function of the Scratch/English/Snowman link template. Anybody know their way around this sort of thing? If not, it might be worth trying to find somebody who does, because I think I speak for everyone when I say that removing the necessity to delete the junk text every time somebody edits a page would remove a huge headache. - I really have no idea why that happens, it never used to. Maybe the functionality of includeonly and noinclude tags was changed at some point and that is producing the glitch? But then I assume we would also see the glitch with other templates too. Perhaps it could be something to do with the color templates? I believe that might be fairly call intensive? Replacing the color template in those templates with just the direct html for the colors might help? At the very least it can be tested without negatively impacting wiki functionality (in fact it might help with load times). - The Light6 (talk) 14:54, October 1, 2018 (UTC)
- Ok I started a test run with the Snowman template, now it is really a matter of waiting and seeing how it works. Also since it has been awhile, I would like to check how changing the template like that effects node counts on pages but I can't remember how to check all now. EDIT: Found it. I checked the Felt page since it should be a fairly expensive page, it uses 57980/300000 nearly 20% of the preprocessor node count. Not too bad considering, but it could be better. Also I found an example of the glitch happening for reference: [1] - The Light6 (talk) 16:52, October 8, 2018 (UTC)
Snowman's template seems no longer glitched since TheLight's revision, so I edited Template:English and Template:Scratch to be similar. Now we wait and see if these never bother us again. Mamaopapaya (talk) 12:40, January 31, 2019 (UTC)
- Okay, something went wrong with {{English}} and it's showing some weird code, but Scracth is fine Mamaopapaya (talk) 12:57, January 31, 2019 (UTC).
