Forum: Index > The Kernelsprite > Would a page listing available Homestuck sheet music fall under the wiki's scope?

There's been a longstanding mspaf thread for sheet music and midis and such, but problems tend to be caused by the fact that any indexes listing it all have to be maintained by a single person. If we were to switch to a wiki-based system, would this one be willing to accept it? MrCheeze (talk) 19:54, February 22, 2014 (UTC)

I have seen the thread in question and the discussion about it. Yes I do think it may fit into our scope, we do actually already have [[:File:Showtimesheetmusic.jpg|one bit of sheet music]] which was featured as an Easter egg in the Act 2 walkaroundHS. Also the wiki does allow .pdf files to be uploaded, so it could also serve as the host of the files if wanted. I guess my only concern would be if artists are OK with us hosting their sheet music as I guess it could go beyond fair use, copyright law is complicated and I am no lawyer, and while I suspect many of the artists behind Homestuck's music would be OK with it, there may always be a couple here and there which aren't.
However that is really only a question of hosting it, simply having a page that links to it all would probably be fine, though I would wait and see what the other staff members have to add before actually doing anything. - The Light6 (talk) 00:43, February 23, 2014 (UTC)
No protest here, I agree with everything that Light said. Aepokk Venset 06:58, February 23, 2014 (UTC)
Well since we have a tendency to cover significant fan stuff I don't see why not. This is something people might be looking for, so they would probably be happy to find it on or via the wiki. bitterLime 10:16, February 23, 2014 (UTC)
