Hauntswitch is a planned sequel to the Hiveswap adventure game. Where Hiveswap follows Joey Claire as she is transported to Alternia, Hauntswitch will feature Dammek, the troll transported to Earth at the same time. The name of the game refers to the town of Hauntswitch, mentioned to be near the Half-Harley Manor in the first half of Hiveswap: Act 1.
The project was mentioned in an interview by Cohen Edenfield, Hiveswap's head writer, as soon as June 2016.[1] The official Hiveswap: Act 1 highlights, released September 14, 2017, shared new information: the games are to be "playable in either order", with saves continuing "from chapter to chapter, then from game to game".[2]
The name Hauntswitch is a pun on "Hiveswap", as a haunt is a place frequented by a specific person, which could pertain to a home (or hive, as the case may be), and "switch" is a synonym for "swap".
Hiveswap: Act 1 contains a secret ">SEQUENCE BREAKER" achievement, awarded for attempting to shoot the flare gun at the mysterious cultist mansion seen from the back window of Jude's treehouse. The description of the achievement reads "Tried to get ahead of the game." Based on this, it seems very likely that Jude will visit this mansion at some point during Hauntswitch.
