Darkleer was the ancestor of Equius Zahhak.
Biography[]
Darkleer was employed as the E%ecutor
by arrow of the Signless and his Disciple; however in an inexplicable moment of pity he was unable to shoot the latter, allowing her to escape. For this “8razen defiance of the High8loods” he was “Expatri8”ed, and given refuge in the domain of the Marquise Mindfang, who used the “so called dark pockets” surrounding him to hide her magic cue ball from Doc Scratch.
Later, after her defeat at the hands of Redglare, Mindfang sought to reclaim the favor by taking refuge in his residence. Depressed in his solitude, she gave him the task of creating her a new robotic arm in order to cheer him up.
Connections with Equius[]
Darkleer's relationship with Mindfang resembles Equius' relationship with Vriska Serket, who lives in close proximity to her and went to him for a robotic prosthetic after the loss of an arm. Darkleer's fondness for the Disciple is also repeated in Equius' close moirallegiance with the Disciple's descendant Nepeta Leijon.
According to Aranea Serket, Equius “redeemed the honor of [Darkleer's] legacy” by obeying every whim of his murderous clown superiors.
