Jerann Mussel is a young violet blooded troll living on Alternia during the time of Joey Claire's visit.
His sign is Aquaga, Sign of the Campaigner, which has a Derse sway and is bound to the Space aspect. The in-character Jerann Mussel account in the Homestuck Official Discord assigned itself the role of Seer.

A July 16, 2022 Stuck at Home Con stream revealed Jerann's design along with other characters set to appear in Hiveswap: Act 3.
Jerann's hair and beanie together form the shape of an octopus.
Promotion[]
On October 19th, 2025, simultaneously with the launch of the official Hiveswap account, an account posing as Jerann appeared on Bluesky and began posting in an attempt to exposing Cridea Jeevik during her Jeevik Week, particularly in reply to the Hiveswap account. In addition to this conspiratorial content, the jerannmussel account shared various posts about sea life - particularly octopuses, which Jerann said remind him of his "Dad".[2]
Starting October 25, Jerann's account began posting the Private Favors & Public Lies: The Traitorous Truth Behind VIP Day series, introducing various characters who would go on to appear in Act 3 in the form of magazine interviews. The first of these posts introduced Jerann himself and his quest to uncover the truth about Cridea;[3] this was followed up on the 28th by the official Part 1 of the series, which featured an interview with Jeevik Week attendees Adelie Calama and Bedisa Pygora.[4]
Etymology[]
Jerann is a variation of the name Jeran, which in Hebrew means "cry of rejoicing" or "to be exalted/to rise".[citation needed] A mussel is a member of several families of marine bivalve mollusks, often hunted and consumed by octopuses,[5] fellow members of the phylum Mollusca.
Personality and traits[]
Jerann is a skeptical and determined investigator, who considers himself a "truth seeker" intent on exposing the truth about Cridea Jeevik.
