Joculine is a character introduced in Chapter 6 of Psycholonials. However, her connections to the plot begin earlier than that.
Biography[]
During the main story, not much is known about Joculine's prior life. Off-screen, Joculine apparently joined the Jubilite movement only to quickly rise up the ranks. By the events of Chapter 6, she is among Z's most trusted circle of followers. During the bottle epilogue, it is revealed that she and Zhen go way back, interacting as kids in the same fandoms. Joculine tried to constantly get Z's attention but was mostly ignored, until she called her out online.
Chapter 6: The Practice of Delegation[]
After Zhen falls ill due to COVID-19, Abby is left to lead the Jubilite movement. Not knowing what to do exactly, one member of Ring 3 offers her services as an administrator. Joculine is entrusted with leading most of the organization for the two weeks that Z is bedridden.
When Z begins to recover, they finally meet Joculine for the first time in person. Z is quickly suspicious of her, and eventually realizes that it is because Joculine has the same tattoo as candice_schmandice (Her first hater and the person that initially cancelled her before the events of the story).
Chapter 7: It Never Even Stood a Chance[]
Off-screen, Joculine organizes the Advanced Pranxis Division of the Jubilite movement and coordinates the assassination of Abby's parents. This rakes in over $200 billion dollars in hard assets and approximately $1.5 trillion dollars in soft assets for the upstart group.
At the beginning of the chapter, Ring 3 conducts a meeting where Joculine is in charge of debriefing Z. When she hints at murdering Abby's parents and implies she wants to replace her as Secretary of Jape, Z shoots her in front of everyone in a Revolver Ocelot-style display.
While she coordinated the assassination of Abby's parents, Z murdered her under the impression that this was merely a suggestion, not something already put into action. As a result, Z comes to regret shooting her at that exact moment; shooting her before would mean she never had time to coordinate the assassination, and doing it later would have allowed Joculine time to rescind the assassination orders.
Bottle Epilogue[]
Through the message in a bottle, Z states that she and Joculine "went way back, to when [they] were just kids mingling in the same fandoms", and that Joculine kept trying to get in her face, but was ignored by Z (supposedly around the age of 14). Apparently, Joculine didn't like being brushed off, so while Z was going through life problems, Joculine, "spun up some bullshit about how the bad things [Z] said online were the height of immoral behavior", only to join the Jubilite movement as an adult without even deleting her account, as if she wanted to make it obvious. Z states that she may be using a made-up "rivalry" to make herself whole.
Personality[]
Joculine tends to speak in a very cheerful demeanor, and is shown to be quite enthusiastic in all her dialogue in addition to photos on her instagram. However, she can also be quite cunning and cold, while also incredibly competent. She collects ridiculous amounts of money for Zhen, and is a very skilled planner, building Z lots of valuable connections. She also may have been planning to steal Abby's and possibly Z's position of power, though the latter is unknown and based solely on Z's suspicion as she was killed shortly before being able to do anything. Joculine is implied to be an attention seeker, trying to get Z to notice her in both her early life and during the Jubilite movement, but lashed out against Zhen and called her out online after feeling no reciprocation. She can also be quite impatient, especially with Abby, visibly flinching while Abby spoke and constantly trying to move the conversation away from her.
