Shadow droppers are members of Alternia's “HEINOUS BROODS OF THE UNDEAD” featured in troll literature alongside rainbow drinkers. Their name alludes to their diurnal nature, in contrast to nocturnal musclebeasts, which they are described as being equally as “suicidal” to attempt to kill.
Kanaya Maryam later likens them to the zombie of human “stories and games and such”, which are often vulnerable to life and healing magic, though states that “There Are A Lot Of Myths About Shadow Dropper Physiology” in literature, suggesting that this may not be true of shadow droppers.
In Pesterquest (Dubiously Canon)[]
Kanaya's route in Volume 5 features the brief appearance of “undead” creatures that are suicidal to fight,[1] including a monster described as a bear. Like His Honorable Tyranny, these monsters have black blood.[2]
Holographic Flarp enemies “like lurching zombie trolls” also appear in Vriska Serket's route in Volume 6 .[3]
