Swiss Elysi, Ward of the Eighth Region (01st District), Cohort Captain of Honeyfall Gymnasikkou's Class of 4005
is a satyr of the monocorn morphotype. His hazetag is “agamemnonsTheory”.
Concept and creation[]
Swiss' symbol resembles a unicode symbol composed of two "harpoons", one facing up and one facing down (⥮);[1] in chemistry, a horizontal version of this symbol (⇌) is used to represent equilibrium.
Etymology[]
Just as his progenitor shares his name with the Highland Scottish dagger called a dirk, Swiss shares part of his name with the Swiss degen (short sword), dagger, and Army knife. Elysi presumably comes from Elysium, an afterlife for the righteous and heroic in Ancient Greek mythology, befitting his cultural interests.
“agamemnon”, in Greek mythology, was a king of Mycenae who commanded Achaean troops during the Trojan War. A “Theory” is an idea or set of ideas that is intended to explain facts or events. In referencing Ancient Greek, Swiss' handle evokes his creator's chumhandle “timaeusTestified”.
Altogether, the handle superficially resembles the popular catchphrase of the Game Theory YouTube series, "...a Game Theory!"
Biography[]
Swiss is first seen in the “#palehørse-darkgeniuses” server, where he banishes multiple users for their bee-related messages.. In the mod channel, he temporarily banishes both championsTirade and cloisteredConnoisewer.
Later, after skipping a meeting with the Cohort Council, of which he is a captain, Swiss waits around his room for his friends to respond to his messages. He examines some of his belongings, including his librarium as someone knocks on his door.
Personality and traits[]
Swiss Elysi is a smug, aristocratic, and very brash satyr. He is so vain he won't even turn around to show the front view of his sprite in his introduction until his “WINNING SMILE” is perfected enough for the camera. Being such a rich satyr, he dabbles in politics, as well as cool swords. A replica of the Unbreakable Katana is even on display in his room.
Swiss is deeply intolerant of nymphs, insulting their units of time, calling them “those salt-slurping nymphs,” minimizing the role of what he calls the “mystical mumbo-jumbo” “some nymph cult did” in ending the Grey Rain conflict which nearly devastated Deltritus, and feeling sickened even by the thought of a satyr EVER working together with a nymph.[2] Despite emphasizing that he isn't a “nympathizer or anything,” however, he does express distaste at the satyrs' historical attacks on nymph breeding grounds and their young.[3]
Swiss' prejudices extend as well to other satyrs he disapproves of; if he were to find himself admitted to a lowly grass-tier fraternity he'd “have to perform steppuku”,[4] and he describes an important figure in the enigmatic barley fraternities as a savage degenerate.[5]
