Names

This caste has at times been referred to as “8lue 8lood”. The name 'teal' was once used to refer to Terezi's tears, and was subsequently used on coloUrs and mayhem: Universe A and again on the Extended Zodiac.

Kankri Vantas refers to the caste as “aqua”.^{[citation needed]}

Roles and culture

Teal bloods are a caste of civil servants whose typical roles include tasks as menial as “petty expeditions to plaster seizure notices on gam8lignant property.” Among these civil servants are the legislacerators, who were at one time employed by the subjugglators as bounty hunters tasked with bringing criminals to justice, but were later “CONF1N3D TO STUFFY COURTBLOCKS 4RGU1NG C4S3S B3FOR3 H1S HONOR4BL3 TYR4NNY” in a role more similar to that of a lawyer.

A “sluggish choler8ear” or “8rainless squawking spleenfowl” would both be lusii typical of a teal blood.

• A tealblood by the name of Journo appears in Friendsim Volume 7, interviewing Remele Namaaq on her artwork for a publication called Alternia Nightly.
• A tealblood named Nufren appears in Friendsim Volume 11 when the MSPA reader takes Lynera Skalbi to the cafe they previously visited with Elwurd. The tealblood has glasses and a bookbag, and recognizes Lynera and the reader from the bookhive. Nufren tries to sit down and befriend the pair before Lynera reacts harshly, to which she responds “=see you around never=”
