The ultimate weapon
, also simply referred to as the treasure, is “some sort of juju” awarded to Caliborn after defeating Yaldabaoth. It takes the form of a totally featureless Sburb symbol, with no color whatsoever - on pages where it appears, the reader can see through it into the background behind the panel.

Even among jujus, the treasure's exact nature and purpose is mysterious. According to research done by Vriska Serket in the dream bubbles, it could only be used twice. First, it would be used by Caliborn as a weapon, irreversibly altering its nature. Then, it could only be used as a weapon against him.
The weapon's first use appears to have been capturing the souls of John Egbert, Rose Lalonde, Dave Strider and Jade Harley, with Caliborn adding the stipulation that it can “ONLY BE USED AGAINST FOUR GUYS AT A TIME. BECAUSE ITS SHAPE HAS. LIKE FOUR SLOTS OR SOMETHING.” The capture of souls is seemingly a common trait to many jujus, having been also exhibited by Lil Cal.
After this transformation, it appears to act as a sort of hole in reality, or even in the bounds of the fictional Homestuck itself; by sticking his arm through it, John becomes “sort of unstuck in existence” or “IN CANON!”, able to "zap" himself or other objects from one part of Homestuck to another, outside of Homestuck entirely, and even into a totally different story, causing retcons to past events.
Its true second use, however, would happen when it was brought near Lord English. Though unsure of what exactly the attack entails, Vriska believed that it would release “the souls of some incredi8ly powerful warriors of legend who came close to 8eating him once, so he trapped them inside the charm” - presumably John and friends. Upon activation, the treasure grew substantially in size, briefly flickering in the symbols and colors (Light, Breath, Time and Space) of the four heroes trapped within, until it resembled the door to the new universe created in the B2 session, complete with a door in its surface. Slamming into the ground, the enlarged treasure sends a wave of energy toward Lord English, presumably resulting in his defeat; however the exact nature of the attack is unknown, only elucidated upon through tales of dubious authenticity (see Ultimate weapon/Dubiously Canon).
History[]
After Yaldabaoth's defeat, Caliborn found this treasure inside a juju chest along with a magic timepiece deep inside the Earth. Sometime afterward, when John and the beta kids, along with Jane Crocker, Jake English, Roxy Lalonde and Dirk Strider, arrived to fight him, Caliborn used the treasure to capture the souls of the former four, defeating the latter in combat with the help of his other juju, Lil Cal. Seeking to banish the four heroes forever, he placed the treasure back in its chest and sent it into the Furthest Ring with the Ring of Void, “WHERE NO ONE WOULD EVER FIND IT.”
Vriska and her pirate crew, John, Aranea Serket, Meenah Peixes and Aradia Megido were eventually able to find it, however. Despite Vriska's vocal disappointment at its underwhelming appearance, John's interaction with the artifact gave him great power, allowing him to greatly alter the timeline.
Vriska and Meenah kept the treasure with them in its chest, hoping to eventually use its second attack against Lord English; however when John's use of the juju's retcon powers led to the appearance of a new Vriska, the second Vriska (dubbing the old Vriska as (VRISKA)) took custody of it. Finally, in Act 7, Vriska unleashes the juju on Lord English. The exact effect of this attack is unknown, as is the manner in which this juju's timeline ultimately loops.
Trivia[]
- Due to its hole-like nature and ability to alter the timeline beyond the normal rules of time travel, the treasure can be considered a literal "plot hole".
