There's a lot of new junk in the registry. You wonder what all this stuff is for.
Along with the Ectobiology Apparatus and Cloning Pad, a third device appeared
in the Phernalia Registry when John connected to Jade, and then again with Arquiusprite. Very little is known about it, but it bears a resemblance to the Catenative Doomsday Dice Cascader.
Its purpose is explained in the author commentary for the Homestuck books, which matches prior fan speculation on the subject.

You put the tadpole into the bubble (note the doomsday dice cascader-like design), and the thing drills into the planet until it gets to the core.
